Came simply and nicely packaged in a rectangular box in two pieces. Simply attach them until you hear a click then use the crank to open up your umbrella! I love the little red switch to control the lights. We're using it without a base for now, but if you plan on leaving it out there all the time then I would highly suggest a base since it is lightweight. Great quality and great price.

Nice umbrella. Well worth the money. I sprayed it with 303 fabric protectant to repell water and protect against fading from UV light.
